Muffins and Milk

This evening, Tyler, Molli, and Gidget came over for dinner of roast, mashed potatoes, broccoli, beef noodles, and fresh bread.  Molli brought over some hot rolls that she had made.  We hadn't seen the Markham's for probably over a week.  I had missed them terribly, and was so glad to get to spend the evening with them.
After dinner, we had warm blueberry muffins and milk for dessert.

Tyler eating his muffin while, what else, talking on the phone - ha!
Maci with her muffin.
And guess who this cute little thing, hiding under the chair, is.....
None other than Miss Gidget herself.
Isn't she the cutest little dog that I thought I'd never let in my house?

Tomorrow, Mom has an appointment with her neurologist.  We are definately on the road to home!

What is THIS?!?!?!

This is what we awoke to this morning.......snow!  Where did that come from?  Anyway, it was beautiful, but I'm tired of it.  Very tired of it!  Shorts one day, snow the next.....whatever!  Good attitude...huh?

Anyway, Mom went to church with us again this morning.  It's so nice having her with us.  After church we had a soup and sandwich luncheon.  Jim made his delicious chili!  Food at a church dinner is the MOST delicious food EVER!

Maci, Jim, and I all came home and took a long nap.  I love a Sunday afternoon nap.  Maci's throat is a little sore today which concerns me because she will be out in the cold playing tennis tomorrow.  No shorts though, probably sweats and a winter coat.....I'm back on the snow again - ha!  Anyway, after we got up, I ate some more chili and then had a little work (for work) to do.

Molli and Tyler have been on a mini-vacation with the in-laws this weekend.  Gidgey got to stay over at a friends house - ha!  Molli and I both worried about her.  My goodness, I just don't know what we're going to do someday with a baby the way we worry over that dog!  They are all home at the Markham house now though, and I'm glad.  I miss them!

I'm ready to start the work week though, because.......next week, our baby will be home for spring break.  Can. Not. Wait. to kiss that face!

Thunderstruck!

This evening was the Marshall University vs. Florida basketball game.  Jim worked today, so I drove Maci to Buffalo to meet him when he was finished so that they could head out to the game.  They have been super excited for this game.  This is Maci and I before we left.  Even though I didn't go to the game, I still sported my MU attire.

Maci in her Donny Jones Scumbag T-shirt.  Donny Jones was the coach at MU last year and is now the coach of the Florida team.  I think that some people are a still a little upset about that - ha!
I'm pretty sure that her Dad had a huge part in this plan.
Jim and Maci ate at Five Guys before the game.  They have been wanting to eat there for a while, and when Morgan was in Nebraska she got to eat at Five Guys.  Jim was a little envious.
Maci and Jim at the game.
The score was 83-69.  Go Herd!!!!

I had the evening to myself, and got to go and see Alex.  I just have to have those little arms wrapped around my neck every so often.  It's nice to feel so loved.

A Very Stressful Day with a Better Ending

Today was another very beautiful day, but I didn't get to enjoy it. {sad}.  It was also a very stressful day.  I did get outside at lunchtime for about 30 minutes (not nearly long enough).  The day started with a foul mood.  I haven't eaten right for the last couple of days.  Junk food and too much of it.  Too much pop.  Not enough exercise.  Anyway, I know better!!  Then my day was spent in my office, with the door shut, going over/studying a new program that will be implemented soon.  I also have to take tests on this information, then attend a training seminar in Florida, the week before Easter.  Which, by the way, is also the week that Morgan will be home for Spring Break.  Which is also the week before Jim and Maci are at Disney World.  Do you see where this is headed........super, foul, bad mood that did NOT glorify God at all which led to more gloomyness - whatever?

Anyway, when I got home from work around 4:30 no one else was home yet.  Jim was still at work and Maci was at tennis practice.  After starting the laundry (which is pretty much running during all awake, at home hours) I decided to lie down for a few minutes.  When I woke up at 6:30pm, this is what I awoke to....
Jim made a delicious dinner!  He is the most wonderful husband!!!!!!  (I guess that I shouldn't have made fun of him for taking a nap yesterday evening while I was at church :()

I've cleaned the kitchen and the dishwasher is humming away.  I've folded towels and put them away, and the dryer and washer are hard at work.  I'm almost finished on the computer.  I've taken my Tylenol PM.  And, I'm headed to bed to get a good nights sleep.  Tomorrow will be a better day!

I have set the LORD always before me.  Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.  Psalms 16:8

Who has been sleeping (napping) in my bed?

Today was another beautiful day!
I got out at lunch time and walked a little and then ate my lunch in the car.  After work, I made a quick trip to Wal-Mart (the joke is that you have to pay an entrance fee of $50 because you can never get out of there without spending, at the least, that much money).  Then I went to see Mom and take her clean clothes to her, deliver a couple of pictures to her, get her dirty clothes, and just visit.  By then it was time for me to head to church, with enough time to go get a donut and something to drink beforehand.

When I got home after church, this is what our bed looked like........I understand that Jim had to take a nap after work so that he could stay up and watch the MU basketball game at 9pm.  We're such party animals - Ha!

A Few Things I Saw Today.....That Made Me Very Happy {grin}!

...the bright, beautiful, Mr. Sun shining...

...girls on the softball field practicing...

...kids running through town, with their shorts on, for after school track practice...

...my girl, on the tennis court, with shorts on...

...this catalog, I retrieved from the mailbox, full of things such as these...

...people without coats on...

...my husband, after going to visit his Pop, walking up the sidewalk...

...me, driving the car, without the heat on, wearing sunglasses...

...all this MUST mean that Spring is just around the corner!

For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.  Psalm 84:11
