Mine, Mine, All Mine!

Living in a family with three daughters, we all "share things".  Beauty products, hair products, clothes, shoes, jewelry, vehicles, etc., etc., etc.  We "share" even when we don't want to or plan to.  I use the word "share" loosely.  I can think of other words I could use, but share is such a nicer, kinder word.
I got a new laptop for CHRISTmas and am loving it.  It has to have a password, that I have not shared with ANYONE, so I am the only one using it (it is mine you know).  Not that I wouldn't share, but I haven't yet. Anyway, I just took the CHRISTmas decorations down this weekend (January 14th to be exact).  I know, I know but we enjoy them so much and when they are taken down, the house just seems so bare and empty.  While cleaning up after taking down the decorations, I decided to rearrange the furniture ~ no surprise~ and actually rearranging rooms ~ again, no surprise.  While rearranging the rooms I decided to use this sofa table as a desk just for me.  Jim uses the desk with the desktop computer on it and he now has his "stuff" all over it.  He's currently looking up information about where his father was during the war, purchasing some of the medals his father received, and researching history.  When the kids are here, they use their laptops anywhere...on the couch, sitting in chairs, at the island...wherever.  I use mine sometimes in bed and sitting in a chair, but I wanted somewhere that I could leave it always, and sometimes I need to write things down or take notes.  So I fixed this area "just for me".  I'm already using the laptop more.  I'm going to paint the table black and put a piece of glass on top.  I just love it.  This is a picture of me and my guy that sits on the desk......
...this is a lamp for some extra lighting and a place for me to sit my cup of hot chocolate....
I think that this will help me to become a more organized person ~ yeah, right!

Merry CHRISTmas Gus

We don't get to see Gus over CHRISTmas break because he, of course, goes home to spend time with his family in Memphis.  We send our gifts to him with Morgan when she goes back to school.  They send us pictures of him opening the presents.
Merry CHRISTmas Gus!

Guess What You Won't Be Seeing At Our House For A Few Months?

You won't be seeing much orange hanging in the laundry room.......
You won't be seeing this bedroom looking like it is lived in......
You won't see these hair products and accessories on the bathroom sink.....
You won't see someone sitting at this sewing machine, sewing quilt squares together.....
You won't see this car parked in the driveway......
You won't see a big orange T on the back of someone's rear car window.....
You won't see any of these hugs......
You won't see Morgan.......

....because she has left to go back to school in Tennessee.
Why does the time have to pass so fast?

For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

First Snow of the Season

Today was the first snowfall of the 2011-2012 winter season.  We were all home today, of which I'm very thankful for.  We all slept in and then Jim made some chili.  Tomorrow Jim and I head back to work and Maci is back to school.  I'm hoping that there is no snow on the road in the morning.....

....wash me and I will be whiter than snow.  Psalm 51:7

2012

Below are my New Year Resolutions Goals.  I don't like to make resolutions, because I don't like to fail.  So, below are goals that I have set for myself.  Goals that I hope to accomplish before 2013.

I hope to....

~spend more time, each day, with Jesus.

~share my faith with more boldness.

~to serve God more and serve others more.

~give more than I get.

~love people I don't feel like loving.

~be a better wife.

~be a better mother.

~be a better friend.

Some of my plans for 2012 are to.....

~save more money.

~be better prepared.

~be more thoughtful.

I have been thinking about who I want to be in 2012....this is your life, are you who you want to be?
And these are areas that I am going to pray for God's help.
These ideas are my own, but I borrowed the wording from another blog friend ;)

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you.  Psalms 33:22
