Powder Puff Football

On Wednesday, October 26th, the RHS Senior girls took on the RHS underclasswomen for a game of football.  The actual RHS football players were the coaches and the cheerleaders for the Powder Puff game.
It was a dreary, rainy, evening.  Jim set up the canopy on the bleachers so that we had someplace dry to sit and that made it possible for me to take some pictures.  Some boys from school were the announcers and did a very comical job, including singing the National Anthem.  We were able to yell and cheer and just have a great time.
The girls had practice Sunday evening from 4-6, Monday evening from 6-7, and Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:30pm in preparation for the game.  And, all that practice payed off.

Maci and Karli
(Would you ever believe that this is a Miss Viking Candidate and Miss Viking?)

Maci and DJ after the game.

I would never have guessed, 17 years ago, that when they placed that precious little bundle of pink in Jim's arms that I'd be trying to figure out how to boil and fit a mouthpiece.  Nor that I'd ever be yelling, for any reason, get 'em Maci, knock 'er down, hurt 'em.  I never thought that I'd see her in a football jersey (except for maybe a boyfriends) or see her have black face paint under her eyes.  But, she was the cutest football player I've ever seen.  And, she made her Dad proud!
