Ripley vs. Ravenswood Football

Friday was the Ripley vs. Ravenswood Hatchet Game.
Once again....we lost.
But, we did have a great time!
Jim, Molli, Chris, Carrie, Carrie's Parents and brother-in-law (sort of), along with Jim and Rose Owens and I were all there.  Vince and Isaiah from church sat with us also.
I have a ton of pictures!

Before the game, the local newspaper came to take pictures of the Senior band members. The paper is going to do a story on the fact that the RHS Senior Band Members came in as winners and are going out as winners.  When the Band won the Black Walnut Band Festival Band Competition this year, they had not won the last two years.  That means that the Seniors in the Band now were Freshmen the last time the award was won.   And, it had never been won before then.
These are a special group of kids.
Maci and her Dad before the game.  Jim wore his original jersey from when he played football for Ripley High School.
Jim and I before the game.
DJ, #73, warming up for the game.
The Ripley High School Football Team.
Before the game, Ripley High School inducted Coach Bob "Red" Hill in to the Hall of Fame.  Bob was a RHS Coach in the 60's.  Bob is my great uncle, he is married to my Grandma Ruth Hall's sister.
Last Pregame Show
Waiting for the football team, and the Senior football players, to take the field one last time.
It was really cold.
Maci taking the field, for the very last time, as the Ripley High School Band Field Commander...
Exiting the field for the last time.
The team getting ready for the second half of the game.
Molli and Maci
DJ (watching Maci in the stands during the 3rd quarter). ~ Sweet
Jim and Molli realizing the game wasn't going to end so well.
It's over and it was a sad, sad, ending.
After the game.
Guess it's not so sad loosing to Ravenswood when you get to see your boyfriend/girlfriend after the game :)
We could not have had any more fun this football season!
It was bittersweet though.....Jim and I will never again watch one of our girls marching, twirling flags, or directing the Ripley High School Band ever again.
We have enjoyed every second of watching Maci on the field!
As Jim says, "We are just moving on to bigger and better venues!"  And to me, that just means moving on to the bigger and better things God has in store for our children as they follow His will and His plans for their future.
It doesn't get any better than that!
